DollyWink Liquid Eyeliner Review

hi everyone :)

Happy Thursday! I just wanted to share a product with you guys, it's something that I've used for the past 2 years but have recently rediscovered it and I've been using it every single day for the past 3 months. It's the DollyWink Liquid Eyeliner in Black.

Over the summer, I worked at a department store in Hong Kong as a summer intern and we were asked to have make up on during work hours. I was a bit worried at first because it meant I would have to find a product that stays on for a full 10 hours.

I've been loyal to the Bobbi Brown Gel Liner for years but recently (I have no idea why) I've found that it smudged a lot as the day progresses. My mom would have to constantly remind me to look in the mirror and clean up under my eyes throughout the day. There honestly wasn't anything I was doing different in my makeup routine; I even stopped applying eye cream during the day because I've heard that it could affect the durability of eye makeup.

Then I remembered my DollyWink Liquid Liner. To be completely honest, I've been avoiding using this product solely because I'm seriously crap at applying liquid liner. My hands shake, the line goes wobbly and as I try to smooth it out and make it even on both eyes, the line just ends up getting thicker and thicker until I give up and take it all off. But one day before work, I woke up early and had some extra time, so I decided to give it a go....I was completely blown away and I fell in love with it all over again.
this is the packaging of the product (this version of it comes with an extra pencil liner)

this is the actual liquid liner on its own
My favorite thing about this liner is how pigmented it is. It's the darkest black color I've ever seen in a liquid liner and the brush tip is so thin, it allows you to create the most precise line on your eyes.

the bottom line is the thinnest line it can create and the top line
shows how pigmented it can get

It also dries really quickly so there's no problem about having to wait a while before you can blink or open your eyes. This product also doesn't smudge. Once it's dried, it stays exactly how it was when it was applied. I've drawn 2 lines with it on my hand and I've tried rubbing it (quite hard) and it honestly doesn't come off at all.
I've rubbed quite hard on these lines, put they've stayed put!!!
It says on the packaging that it's waterproof. It can withstand a bit of water (ie. rain), but if you actually do put water on it and rub hard at it, it'll slowly come off. So if you're looking for something that will completely stay put while you're crying or if you have a cold, then you might want to find something with a bit more staying power, maybe a gel liner instead.

But all in all, it's a great product. I bought it in Sasa, a drugstore selling loads of cosmetics in Hong Kong, for about HKD$105 (that would be about £8.2). It may seem quite pricey for a drugstore product, but it seriously is worth it. I've had the same liner for a whole year and it still hasn't run out. I'm not sure where you can get a hold of this product in other countries of the world, but in the UK, I've seen it sold online on amazon and ebay and sasa.com. I've also seen it being sold in a random asian bubble tea store in the part of UK I'm in at the moment. If you want to get a hold of this product, your best bet is to google it and try and find it somewhere online.

hope you all enjoyed this post and found it useful somehow :) have a nice day everybody!

hello :)

Hi everyone! I'm happy you've found your way to my blog, I hope you'll enjoy reading what I have to say, and I hope I don't bore the pants off of you. I've started this blog to talk about all things girly, mainly beauty stuff and just random things that girls may encounter.

Just some background about me, I'm Edith, a 20 year old, originally from Hong Kong, but now I'm abroad in England, in the 3rd year of my law degree. Some people might think that it's weird when I tell them I'm not sure that I want to be a lawyer even though I'm doing LLB Law in university. It's just that I've been through some things in my life and it's made me realize that this path might not be something I really want to do. I chose law to be my university major only because I've wanted to study it ever since I was 7. I loved watching those HK Dramas with lawyers and I wanted to know everything they knew. Law is something I'm interested in, but it's also something I'm not sure I want to spend the rest of my life doing.
There are some Hongkongers in my course at my university and they're so different. They're very ambitious, very competitive, sometimes to the point that they'll find ways to put you down just so they can get to the top. They're mainly from the local Hong Kong schools, and I guess they grew up that way, always having to compete in the class to get to the top. However, I went to an international school in Hong Kong, it wasn't chill as many people think it is, but we were taught to be a well rounded person and not to be so focused only on academics.
Anyway, that's just a bit of background info about me. Upcoming posts won't be as serious as this one, I promise. I just wanted to put that out there since it's what I've been having to think about recently.

hope you all enjoyed reading that, and I hope that some of you are able to relate :) i promise my next post will be something more interesting than this. have a great day everyone, wherever you are :)
